In 1996, most drilling waste was still being managed in on and off-site sumps. In search of a solution, SageLink's predecessor, Unique Oilfield Technology Services (UNOTEC), introduced the concept of sumpless drilling using "steel pits".

Established in 2008, SageLink was new by name but brought that depth of expertise and problem-solving inherited from its predecessor to the forefront of its services. Our leadership brings almost 30 years of continuous service and success in the energy sector, consistently solving problems for drilling operations.

In 1996, our leadership team rewrote the rulebook, swapping loaders and 3-sided shale bins for much more versatile excavators paired with compact 4-sided tanks. That single move redefined efficiency, environmental stewardship, and on-site safety for our customers. It changed the industry, became the new standard, and has continued to evolve through our stewardship.
